    If you're looking for a single channel DMP costing $1200 or a multichannel ISA, then the Series 500 isn't a factor. But if you're looking to conveniently accessorize your environment with $200-$400 cards over time, the Series 500 is perfect. Best to know your expected usage over 3-5 years. I overspec'd with the outstanding Cranborne R8. Seemed to be the perfect Swiss Army knife at the time, but I'm no longer using its extraordinary feature set. I'll likely swap it out with basic 500 Series chassis preferably cabled as DB25. Hope the new studio is working out!

      @WarrenHenry hey warren thanks for the reply well that is great if both are handmade then why such a big price difference. We are getting eq, power supply everything inside the ha73. Where as in 500 series unit we get only the preamp with chassis and eq seperate. I mean if you buy both 500 series modules and a chassis it would reach above 2000 usd. I am just confused about that. I am just about to buy it please answer my question thanks alot.

Pro-tools is a STANDARD but so is a honda civic DX. Understand you have never ever heard your plugins before and what they can actually do! I will bet you MONEY (REAL MONEY) That SAC/Software Audio Console & SAW Studio will eclipse/ completely out perform ( sonically ) another DAW/Digital Mixer on the market ( including RADAR ) rather studio or live event and they will do so with BEHRINGER ADA 8000/8200 through RME ADAT interfacing. UNDERSTAND the only way you can get this type of sound quality is you will have to go with an entire (old school) ANALOG SET UP without your normality DAW crappy slipping smeared code doing all the translation.* Again rather than waste money on some analog console, you could purchase BAREFOOT MONITORS. Warren, my WA73-EQ seems to sound like the tone changes a lot when I record vocals for a extended periods of time. It isn't my voice nor the hearing either. Because the previously recorded material, an hour or 2 earlier sounds completely different. Seems as if the entire signal is smearing. The bass transients flatten and the high end seems to loose definition, air and crispness. Is this something you experienced with your warm units? The midrange seems to sound like when the tone button is engaged without me touching it. I record with eq and need to. I use an audient id22 and KT76 to track vocals, so I don't want to add one more ad to da roundtrip to the material again. One time in, I am satisfied with the results, but wasn't crazy about doing two passes with the pre. Thanks

    • @geotungz4050
      @geotungz4050 3 месяца назад

      to clarify, completely different, I mean the signal I recorded previously sounds the same to me, my preception, hearing wise, didn't change, the way I hear myself while recording is the same, I use one headphone on, it is really the pre or the eq that seems to start mangling the sound.

    • @WarrenHenry
      @WarrenHenry 3 месяца назад

      Thanks for your questions. It’s hard for me to comment without hearing what’s going on. Feel free to send a sound snippet of your problem along with your signal chain to my email. I will say this though, if you’re using any transformer based equipment for an extended period of time heat might affect the tone. Might not be exactly your problem but it is possible.

    I like seeing this concept explained this way. I would really like to see it done with music though. This will explain drums well, but a vocal typically does not sing straight 1-2-3-4 as the metronome is doing. 👊🏾

    • @WarrenHenry
      @WarrenHenry 3 месяца назад

      Delmixedit my brother thanks for your comment. This video is primarily aimed that those who struggle to set any compressor. I come from the school of thought that “If you aim at nothing you will hit nothing every time”. That said, my goal was to prove that compression goals are attainable with any compressor using something a lot less dynamic and simple like a metronome because everyone doesn’t have access to musicians to practice technique. My preference through the years is to not have to apply much compression to drums and vocals and ask the musician to adjust their touch on their instrument for the recording. This where a lot of players who are unfamiliar with making dynamic adjustments for the studio struggle. You are correct a vocal is not as typical as this metronome but dynamics are dynamics, soft is soft and loud is loud whether it’s coming from a Cellist or a power chord thrashing rocker. The approach to compression remains the same for me. It always begins with the basic question. How much gain reduction do I want on this source and can I get the player or singer to adjust their technique so I don’t lose the character of their instrument through compression. In my lifetime I’ve experienced all types of players but a good musician is one that is flexible and able to make technical adjustments on the fly in order to support the music. Thanks for weighing in.✌🏽

    Warm definitely lost that battle if anyone was in the market for a budget 1073 style pre/eq

    Warren, would you say that the ISA is smoother than Warm Audio 73eq? I own a Telefunken TF11 FET mic and the top and is not so smooth despite the amazing sound of this mic. So I’m looking for something to smooth my top end and my budget is between either a used ISA or an used WA73eq

      Hi and thank you for your question. The ISA is much more transparent than the WA73 EQ. That is primarily due to the transformers which are used. The ISA uses Lundhal known for their clear sound and the WA73 EQ uses Carnhill known for their more colored sound.
